Barbers
Victor Bañuelos
I was born in the city of Baldwin Park, California in the San Gabriel Valley to Mexican immigrant parents. I’m the middle child to two sisters. My earliest memories have a great common factor and that is care. My parents always took care of my families’ traditions and customs and stayed true to doing things the right way not the easy way. As a barber there is nothing I hold higher than to care for my patrons, just like I was brought up to care for my family, friends, and strangers. I enjoy baseball, food and music. A perfect day would be sifting through the Rose Bowl flea market for vintage Mexican artesanía and Pedro Infante records with my beautiful wife @Brittanybrushes, multiple cups of coffee and a carne asada with my homies. I can’t wait to see all of you!

Alejandro Mazuera
I’m a 1st generation Cuban & Colombian American. My parents met in Queens, New York. I was born in Miami & raised most of my life in California. I became a licensed barber in 2013. Education, culture, & style is not only essential but meaningful to me. Barbering has literally been a journey & I fondly anticipate to continue it at Elysian Barbershop.

Joseph “Sucio” Estrada
Growing up in both LA and Orange counties, Joseph can go surf or snowboard in the morning, go to a show in the evening, and then get tacos and a beer late night. A man of many hats and hobbies, Joseph takes pride in being a barber first and a Dodgers fan second. Coming from Straight Up Barbershop in Orange County, it was there where he honed his craft and learned how to provide his clients with an excellent service. Come for his haircuts, but stay for his stories.
Joseph’s pro tip: If you want a beard as nice as his, rub salsa on your face.

Mike Centeno
Born and raised in Los Angeles to immigrant parents from El Salvador that have never stopped showing me the importance of hard work and why we do it. Oldest of 3 siblings that have proved that some bonds are unbreakable. Above all, my beautiful girls that are everything. I’ve been fortunate to have a supporting family that taught me to appreciate our culture and never lose sight of ourselves. Dodgers. Raiders. Lakers. Went to barber school in 2007 but life happens and it was put on hold. Here we are in 2019 with redemption, ready to serve you.

Emanuel “Manny” DeLatorre
Born in Paramount California, while also spending some time in Texas. I’m always looking to find myself in my parent’s home country of Mexico. Been in the barber industry since I was 18 and happy to say I love what I do. My 13 years behind the chair have taught me so many things — most importantly that we are constantly collaborating to create the life we believe in. Looking forward to doing my part in the neighborhood.
